In order to schedule a defense with the Doctoral Program, a candidate must have a final meeting with their committee, who signs the Pre-Defense Meeting Form attesting to the readiness of the candidate to defend their dissertation. The Pre-Defense Meeting Form can be found in the linked Google Drive folder. You must be logged in to your Appstate email to view the folder. The pre-defense meeting must be at least 3 weeks before the defense.
After the Pre-Defense meeting, the candidate will send the dissertation and signed Pre-Defense Form to the Director with the Program Associate copied. The dissertation that is sent to the Director may either be edited OR have edits to be made that were suggested by the committee as long as a list of edits is sent with the dissertation.
Please note: signatures can be digital, this is an internal form that does not go to the Graduate School
