In order to schedule a defense with the Doctoral Program, a candidate must have a final meeting with their committee, who signs the Pre-Defense Meeting Form attesting to the readiness of the candidate to defend their dissertation. The Pre-Defense Meeting Form can be found in the linked Google Drive folder. You must be logged in to your Appstate email to view the folder. The pre-defense meeting must be at least 3 weeks before the defense.
After the Pre-Defense meeting, the candidate will send the dissertation and signed Pre-Defense Form to the Director (Interim: Tracy Goodson-Espy; email@example.com) with the Program Associate copied (Audrey Jones; firstname.lastname@example.org). The dissertation that is sent to the Director may either be edited OR have edits to be made that were suggested by the commite as long as a list of edits is sent with the dissertation.
Please note: signatures can be digital, this is an internal form that does not go to the Graduate School
