Doctoral Program Students and Faculty Present at Talking AAC 2021 Conference

Current doctoral students, Bronwyn Harris, and Tonya Moore presented their research on Williams Syndrome at the Talking AAC 2021 Online Conference, with faculty member Dr. David Koppenhaver. The conference took place online on November 8th, 2021. The Talking AAC is a professional learning community for parents and professionals who are supporting individuals with complex communication needs, such as those with Williams syndrome. The trio's topic of discussion at the conference was titled Writing Instruction that Enhances Communication. The key points of the discussion included frameworks, strategies, and technologies for teaching students with significant disabilities to communicate in writing more independently, conventionally, effectively, and with greater intrinsic motivation.
